Our Ethiopia Trek and Tours package combines trekking in the beautiful Simien mountains with some of the intriguing history found there. The country is sometimes called the ‘Land of Origins’ because there is evidence of early man there. One of our oldest ancestors ‘Lucy’ resides in the National Museum in Addis Ababa and we will visit her while we are in the capital.

In the Simien mountains we will experience stunning views off the escarpment looking down at the lowland hills. There will be incredible birdlife there like the Thick-billed Raven, Augur Buzzard and the Lammergeier. If we are very lucky we will see the world`s rarest canine, the Ethiopian Wolf and the Walia Ibex. We can all but guarantee sightings of Gelada Monkeys as we usually come across a few troops of them.
After five days trekking we reach the summit of Bwahit ( 4430m). After that we will leave the mountains and return to Gondar for a tour of the castle complex. Our final place to visit will be Lalibela and we will stay here for two nights as we explore the rock hewn churches from the 12 th century.
